Apple Peanut Butter Pops

January 16, 2013 by Kristen Smith

Move over cake pops!
A new healthier competitor has arrived – meet apple pops!

The popularity of cake pops has dramatically increased over the past year. From local bakeries to major coffee chains, cake pops are available everywhere.  Many companies are even selling kits to make homemade versions of them.
While cake pops are appealing to the eye with their bite size cute appearance, most pops will cost you anywhere from 150-180
calories.  Seems like a lot of calories for a few sweet bites.
For the good news – apple pops are a healthier alternative that offers fewer calories and added nutritional benefits.  Each pop contains fiber, vitamins and minerals, and heart healthy fats.  The cake pop can’t offer any of these nutritional benefits.  Decorating the pops is a perfect activity for children. Spread a small amount of peanut butter and add your favorite nuts, granola, chocolate, or sprinkles for a clever snack or treat to take to your child’s next party.
Perfect for the upcoming Valentine’s
Day!

What is not to love about these sweet delicious treats?!
Enjoy!
