For all of you bagel and cream cheese lovers out there we have good news! You can enjoy a bagel with cream cheese spread for fewer calories and as part of a healthy breakfast (or snack). The secret is to choose two specific products.
1. A “bagel thin” rather than a traditional bagel. Several companies produce bagel thins which come in a variety of options including whole grain. Each bagel thin typically offers only 110 calories. Although this swap will leave you with less of the sought after chewy bagel you will save at least 200 calories. If you are really not able to leave behind your traditional New York style bagel try cutting the bagel into three pieces instead of cutting in half (though the body of the bagel) and remove the middle section.

Oh, yum! I haven't eaten breakfast yet, and guess what I'm craving now!!
